Rogers HS Student Selected as State Board Intern

Earlier this month, The Washington State Board of Education (SBE) selected Rogers High School Junior Estrella "Star" Mendoza as one of the first-ever SBE Communicator Interns.

According to Mendoza, she will assist with community outreach and create print and digital communication materials for families and students to help them learn more about the SBE. After seeing the internship posted on Schoology, Mendoza knew it was the right opportunity for her.

"I hope to study digital media in college," Mendoza said. " I'm really excited to challenge myself with video and photo projects. This internship will be amazing for me to be able to work in a more professional setting."

Mendoza mentioned representing Puyallup School District statewide is an honor and hopes she will inspire other Washington state leaders in K-12 education.

"I'm excited. I just hope I can represent Puyallup well," Mendoza said. "I honestly hope I can show how important CTE Classes are."
