Posted on 05/13/2021
Congratulations to Katie Rose Abegglen of Puyallup High School! She was chosen as this year’s Queen of the Daffodil Festival and Royal Court. The Queen’s Coronation took place on April 26 at Farm 12 where 23 princesses competed in academic standing, speaking ability, appearance, sociability, speech content, Festival awareness, impromptu speaking ability and attitude.
The queen and princesses serve as Official Ambassadors of Pierce County and are selected by their schools and communities. The activities continue into the summer months with travel to many out-of-town parades where they represent Pierce County.
The program helps students develop public speaking skills and provides the opportunity to meet and interact with people of all ages, economic levels, and different lifestyles, from local community and government leaders, to children in all areas of Pierce County.
Daffodil Princess Hailee Englehart is from Emerald Ridge and Princess Haley Isom is from Rogers.
