Face masks remain a requirement for staff, students and visitors on Puyallup School District property, regardless of having received a vaccine.
On May 13, the Governor’s Office announced that CDC masking guidance does not apply to schools. Although no change to face mask guidance, this new public health recommendation supports us in our vaccination efforts, stating that fully vaccinated people can refrain from COVID testing and needing to quarantine following a known exposure. As such, Puyallup School District COVID response protocols will be updated when there is a reported positive case of COVID-19 in a school facility. Staff and students who are fully vaccinated will not be required to test or quarantine.
The District will continue to monitor health and safety guidance as it evolves and update protocols to mitigate disease transmission and open schools.
