To be admitted to a kindergarten program, a child must be not less 5 years of age prior to September 1st of that school year.


Kindergarten registration for 2015-16 will be held at the elementary school of residence for the student enrolling. Registration begins March 17, 2015, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and will be held every day during the day thereafter.


 Required immunizations:


 State law requires that children entering Washington public schools must show proof of having had the following immunizations:


  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, and acellular Pertussis vaccine (DTaP). Four doses, the last of which must have been given on or after the child’s fourth birthday.
  • Polio vaccine. Three doses if the last dose is given on or after the fourth birthday. Four doses if all doses are given before the child's fourth birthday.
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR). Two doses. The first dose must be given on or after the first birthday and at least 28 days prior to the second dose.
  • Hepatitis B. Three doses at recommended intervals.
  • Varicella (chickenpox). Two doses received on or after the first birthday and at least 28 days apart, or one of the following:
    • A health care provider’s note giving diagnosis or verification of a history of varicella disease or herpes zoster. Parental documentation of history of varicella will no longer be accepted for kindergarten students.
    • Date of blood test (titer) showing serological proof of immunity to varicella or herpes zoster.
    • Exemption from immunity based on a medical, religious, or personal reasons.
