Local businesses and community groups have agreed to set up donation boxes in August to collect back-to-school supplies for students in need.


Several organizations are partnering with Communities In Schools of Puyallup (CISP) and the Puyallup School District to organize school supply drives.


School supply donation drop-off sites include the following locations. The list will be updated as other sites are announced:


August 1-22

  • American West Bank, 13605 Meridian Ave. E., Puyallup.
  • Columbia Bank, 4220 S. Meridian, Puyallup.
  • Key Bank’s three Puyallup area locations: 511 River Road, Puyallup; 3903 S. Meridian, Puyallup; and 15117 Meridian E., Puyallup.
  • Foursquare Church, 601 9th Ave. S.E., Puyallup.
  • Hair Masters, 1419 E. Main, Puyallup.
  • Puyallup Mini Storage – 1401 North Meridian, Puyallup.
  • Arm Guard Self Storage – 6805 112th St. East, Puyallup. 
  • Emerald Heated Self Storage – 16707 110th Ave E., Puyallup. 
  • Studio 210 Hair Design - 210 Meridian, Puyallup. 
  • Albertsons -  11012 Canyon Rd East, Puyallup.



August 4-22

For the fifth straight year, Red Canoe Credit Union is sponsoring a "Fill the Canoe" school supplies drive. The credit union will match pound-for-pound new school supplies donated in canoes or other donation receptacles set up at:

  • Red Canoe Credit Union’s two Puyallup area locations: 16510 Meridian St. E. and 601 39th Ave. S.W., Puyallup.
  • South Hill Mall Food Court, 3500 S. Meridian, Puyallup.
  • Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce, 323 N. Meridian, Puyallup.
  • Washington State Fair Administration Building, 110 9th Ave. S.W., Puyallup.
  • The City of Puyallup, 333 S. Meridian, Puyallup.
  • Puyallup School District Education Service Center, 302 Second St. S.E., Puyallup.
  • Rainier Family Physical Therapy, 18710 Meridian E., #215, Puyallup.
  • Sunrise Therapeutic Massage, 11216 Sunrise Blvd., Puyallup.


Items especially in need this year include backpacks appropriate for junior high and high school students, 2- to 3-inch three-ring binders, composition notebooks, graph paper; highlighters, colored pencils, markers, pencil pouches, binder dividers, filler paper, and spiral notebooks.


CISP Executive Director Jan Mauk will work with district schools to provide school supplies to children in need.
