SEL Curriculum

As we reopen schools we understand students may have social-emotional challenges that can get in the way of academic success.  As relationships are developed with students, teachers will be given the tools to determine if all needs are met.

Secondary: SEL lessons on Mondays for 20 - 30 min.
7th & 8th Grade: Second Step
9th – 12th Grade: Character Strong Emphasis on the SEL lesson will continue throughout the week.

Office Hours conducted through Microsoft Teams are Tuesday-Friday 2:00-3:00 pm. Monday office hours 11:30 am- 12:00 pm.

CharacterStrong is being used in some 7th and 8th grade classes, and in grades 9-12 Advisory classes.

CharacterStrong is a curriculum with vertically-aligned social emotional skill lessons and character development lessons. Social emotional skills include: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Character development includes: patience, kindness, honesty, respect, selflessness, forgiveness, commitment, and humility. Teaching all these skills to every student will prepare them for any opportunity in life beyond high school.
