HS Comprehensive Sexual Health Lesson 2023
Students in 10th and 11th grade will view two presentations and complete an assessment for each of these topics:
Lesson 1: Healthy Relationships
Lesson 2: Sexual Health

Student can access the lessons by joining the 2023 HS CSHE Lessons course in Schoology. 
  1. Log in to Schoology.
  2. Select  Courses in the top menu.
  3. Click My Courses.
  4. From the  My Courses page, click Join Course on the right side of the page.
  5. Enter your access code: 3JQS-ZVQG-9X36J.
  6. Click Join.

Why is this required? 
OSPI requires that schools must provide comprehensive sexual health education at least twice in grades 9-12. The first lessons were completed in the 9th grade. Required topics of instruction are described in RCW 28A.300.475, with a focus on helping students understand and respect personal boundaries, develop healthy friendships and dating relationships, gain a deeper understanding of human growth and development, develop skills to support choosing healthy behaviors and reduce health risks, including abstinence and other STD/pregnancy prevention methods, how to access valid health care and prevention resources and understanding the influence of family and society on healthy sexual relationships.

Parent Opt-Out
After previewing the lessons, parents may opt-out of their student participating in these two lessons. If parents do not feel that the CSHE lessons are appropriate for their family, complete this form. Allow 1-2 days for processing as requests made the day of the lessons will not be processed that same day.
