November 6, 2020: Distance Learning Family Survey
We want your feedback! Participate in our Continuous (Distance) Learning 2.0 survey and tell us how it’s going. Families and students are encouraged to submit feedback on learning platforms, progress reports, student workload and more.
The survey is offered in English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Korean, and Punjabi and is open now through Nov. 30. Survey data will be reviewed by the District’s Instructional Taskforce to evaluate the effectiveness of Continuous (Distance) Learning 2.0. The Instructional Taskforce will use the data collected to recommend what we should start, stop and continue doing to ensure that distance learning is as effective as possible for students.
In partnership with Puyallup Education Association, the District formed a task force to examine two instructional models for reopening schools in September.
The task force work will align with guidance from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Department of Health and provide us with a recommended instructional model to be implemented quickly in the event of a future outbreak.
Based off this recommendation, operational aspects will be analyzed by departments (HR, Food and Nutrition, Transportation, etc.) and with their lens of expertise, come up with operational models to support instruction.
Goals and Objectives
Aligning work with OSPI guidance, the task force will ...
-
1. Examine two non-traditional instructional models
-
2. Design implementation plans for each of the non-traditional instructional models
-
3. Develop common expectations for grade levels and content areas
-
4. Recommend instructional model considerations for Board consideration in August.
