Sparks Stadium will soon have a new look. Those passing by the stadium as well as those using it will notice the stadium has fresh new colors.

Work is scheduled to begin in late May to paint the exterior of the stands and ticket booths with a new color scheme. The existing signage will have a new look that makes it stand out more.

A new reader board is scheduled for delivery and installation before the 2016-17 school year begins. It will replace the existing 20-year old reader board that no longer functions properly.

The exterior painting and signage project is one of the district’s small capital projects scheduled for this school year. The stadium has had a few touch-ups over the years, but has not been fully repainted since it was built in 1986.

Contractors will do their best to schedule work times to minimize the impact to those who use the facility. The improvements are scheduled to be completed by summer 2016. Director of Construction Management Mike Meadows said “We will do what we can to minimize any impact to those using the facility.”
