The Puyallup School District is aware that KOMO News recently featured a story about some concerns that are being voiced by parents of Ridgecrest Elementary School students.  Tonight, May 20, KOMO will feature this story again.
Due to the nature of the concerns being voiced, the district cannot comment further at this time.  The district recognizes that the concerns voiced in the KOMO News story are sensitive subjects for all of the involved individuals, as well as the community, but as a result of the student privacy restrictions created by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, we are unable to offer any further comment on those specific concerns at this time.
The district's highest priorities will continue to be ensuring the safety of its students and staff and providing the students of the district, and specifically Ridgecrest Elementary School, with a safe and supportive learning environment.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your student's safety, please contact Ridgecrest Principal Adriana Julian.
