Nine Puyallup educators have earned National Board Certification — one of the highest recognitions in the education profession — this past year.


The Puyallup School Board recognized the educators at its February 2 meeting.


Puyallup School District’s nine new National Board Certified Teachers, and the schools where they worked during the 2013-14 school year, are:


Jessica Anderson, Puyallup High

Jennifer Doerr, Northwood Elementary

Jenai Ellison, Stewart Elementary

Kathryn Guardipee, Wildwood Elementary

Romy Haney, Firgrove Elementary

Angela Lee-Pope, Rogers High

Rachel Martin-Reseck, Ballou Junior High

Maggie Smith, Maplewood Elementary

Heidi Zimmer, Ballou Junior High
