More than 100 students, teachers, family members, and friends filled
the Karshner Museum and Center for Culture & Arts in May for the 17th annual Dan Vesey-Deb Munson Art Show.
The show featured 130 pieces of artwork, including ceramics,
paintings, drawings, and photography by students in kindergarten through
grade 12. The artwork was selected from among 240 pieces submitted for
consideration.
Top winners received cash awards from the school district’s
co-sponsor, Valley Arts United, and each student artist received a
certificate of recognition. Artwork is judged based on creativity and
originality, as well as overall quality.
The Dan Vesey-Deb Munson Art Show is held each year in honor of the
late Dan Vesey, a local artist who taught art in the district for 30
years, and Debbie Munson, an art teacher in the district for 35 years.
