Regulation 5251R - Conflicts of Interest

It is the position of the district to permit consulting activities which:

  • are related to the professional interest and development of the employee or other exempt person,
  • do not interfere with the employee’s regular duties,
  • do not utilize district materials, facilities, or resources, including equipment,
  • are in agreement with the Washington State Code of Professional Conduct for Education Practitioners or any other applicable Code of Professional Conduct,
  • do not compete with the work of the district, and are not otherwise contrary to the best interest of the district as determined by the Board of Directors,
  • do not violate federal or state law, and
  • do not represent a conflict of interest under other policies of the district.
