The first of two public hearings on the recommended spending plan for the 2010-11 school year will be held on Monday, June 28.

The public hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. at Ballou Junior High School, 9916 136th St. E. in Puyallup.

Superintendent Tony Apostle is expected to unveil his recommended budget at Monday’s hearing. A copy of the proposed budget, along with results of a budget survey that was posted to the Web site in January, will be available on this district Web site.

A second public hearing on the recommended budget is scheduled on Monday, August 9. The hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. at Ballou Junior High and will be immediately followed by the regular school board meeting. The board is scheduled to take action on the budget at that meeting.

The school board is required by law to adopt a budget by August 31 for the 2010-11 school year.
