09-21-11: Students showcase learning on Education Day at the Puyallup Fair

Students and staff throughout the school district showcased educational programs and treated fair-goers to hands-on activities during Education Day on September 14 at the Puyallup Fair.

Stage events began with an opening ceremony featuring the presentation of colors by Rogers High School JROTC members Charlotte Bordon, Derrick Joyce, Daniel Lee, and Josh Somera.

The ceremony was immediately followed with the first stage performance of the day by the Puyallup High School Orchestra, led by Director Todd Giltner.

Music, dance, cheer, a culinary arts demonstration, and other student groups performed or demonstrated throughout the day on the main Pavilion stage.

More than 20 booths featured displays from around the district that highlighted student learning taking place in Career and Technical Education high school magnet programs, Visual Arts, QUEST, Office of Diversity Affairs, Karshner Museum, and more.
