Students
and staff throughout the school district showcased educational programs
and treated fair-goers to hands-on activities during Education Day at
the Fair on September 11 at the Washington State Fair. View slideshow.
Stage events began with an opening ceremony featuring the presentation
of colors by Rogers High School JROTC members Cole Felice, Brady Balas,
JoonYong Lee, and Justin Agulay.
The ceremony was immediately followed with the first stage performance
of the day by the Puyallup High School Orchestra, led by Director Todd
Giltner.
The stage was filled throughout the day by elementary, junior high, and
high school vocal, band, orchestra, and drum groups. Members of the
Emerald Ridge, Puyallup, and Rogers high school cheer and dance groups
also performed.
In addition to the stage performances, more than 20 booths in the
Pavilion building featured educational displays from around the
district.
Information and demonstrations highlighted student learning taking
place in various Career and Technical Education high school magnet
programs such as Aquaculture, Culinary Arts, Automotive, Medical Careers
Academy, Programming for Game Design, and Architecture, Construction,
and Engineering (ACE) Academy.
Students
