Today, February 3, is the last day that Pierce County residents not
yet registered to vote in Washington state can register in person to
participate in the February 11, 2014 Special Election.
The deadline has passed for mail-in and online voter registration for the Special Election.
Locally, the Puyallup School District has placed two school levies on
the Special Election ballot to fund day-to-day programs and operations,
aging facility improvements, and technology upgrades.

In-person voter registration
In-person voter registration is done at the Pierce County Elections
Division, 2501 So. 35th St., Suite C, Tacoma. The Elections Division is
open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To register to vote in Pierce County, applicants must be:
- At least 18 years old by Election Day.
- A United States citizen and legal Washington state resident.
- Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections.
- Not disqualified from voting due to a court order.
Voter registration forms are available at each of the Puyallup School
District’s 32 schools, the school district’s Education Service Center,
public libraries, staffed fire stations in unincorporated Pierce County,
city clerks' offices, most state offices, and the Pierce County
Elections Division.

Ballot drop box locations
Washington state is all vote-by-mail. Ballots for the February 11,
2014 Special Election have been sent to registered voters and must be
postmarked and mailed, or deposited in postage-free ballot drop boxes,
by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
