PSD Recognizes National School Bus Safety Week
Posted on 10/17/2022
National School Bus Safety Week addresses the importance of bus and driver safety and the commitment to being the safest motor vehicles on the road.
Below are some tips to help our students and families stay safe when riding the bus.
Tip 1 - Be Prepared: Make sure children leave home five minutes before the bus's ETA so they can arrive at the bus stop. Running after or in front of a bus is dangerous.
Tip 2 - Group Walking: Walk young children to the bus stop or encourage children to walk in groups. There is safety in numbers; groups are easier for drivers to see.
Tip 3 - At the Bus Stop: Avoid having children play in the street. Playing with toys that could roll into the street is also dangerous.
Tip 4 - Be Aware of Surroundings: Remind children to look to the right before they step off the bus.
