Students Stand Out with Certifications
Students Stand Out with Certifications
Posted on 02/23/2022
Congratulations 1,488 seniors districtwide who have earned one or more industry certifications during their high school years! Representative of each pathway, CTE teachers chose the following exemplary students based on the series of pathway courses completed and connections with pathway program industry partnerships outside the classroom.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses allow students to further their academic and hands-on education and training while exploring career pathways in Science Natural Resources; Business & Marketing; Skilled & Technical Sciences; Health Sciences; and Human Services. One of the most impactful benefits CTE can provide is industry-backed certifications. These certification programs can coincide with regular coursework and validate the student’s mastery of concepts with each program. Students who desire a professional credential must pass an industry-developed, industry evaluated exam at the end of the CTE course. Earning an industry credential demonstrates the professional skill level the student has achieved and provides industry-recognized proof that the student is prepared for career-related responsibilities or post-secondary education or training.

The following students were honored for their extraordinary dedication and perseverance in obtaining industry certification at the Feb. 22 School Board meeting.
