Rogers High School CTE teachers Willie London and Randy Webster received a surprise visit last week for the announcement they are the Puyallup School District 2021-2022 CTE Teacher (Team) of the Year!
As part of Career and Technical Education month, Puyallup School District highlights an exceptional teacher – or in this case teachers - who have contributed to the success of CTE through the quality of their work, their involvement in the school community, and the impact they have had on student success.
They are described as teachers who collaborated from the first day they started working together. They immediately put egos aside and started planning mutually beneficial lessons for their students across their curriculum. They have created a shared vision of boundless potential for the RHS CTE Medical Program.
Over time, the enrollment in their courses have grown in the socioeconomic and ethnic representation of a diverse student body. They continue to stretch each other to support each student, and both spent a portion of their summer in an AVID training focused on equitable instruction, best teaching practices, and barrier removal for historically underrepresented students.
Watch the surprise announcement they both received that day.
