With limited
road access to Emerald Ridge High School and Glacier View Junior High,
community support with traffic flow is critical. With coordinated efforts,
students, staff, buses, parents, and visitors will find it easier to get in and
out of the dead-end road that leads to both schools.
In past
years, a system was used to allow vehicles and buses to merge from parking lots
onto the road when traffic is backed up. Taking turns, alternating every other vehicle
out of the parking lots to merge with the road traffic has proven successful
for all involved.
The district
is asking all drivers to be courteous and adopt this system during peak traffic
times, especially in the afternoon. Allowing vehicles and buses to exit the
parking lot in turn with the road traffic will help traffic flow more smoothly
for all.
Thank you.
