Message from the Superintendent - June 20, 2018

YeomansGood morning,

A sincere word of thanks to each and every member of our Puyallup School District team for the outstanding work over the course of the 2017-18 school year.  Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to attend several celebrations where the achievements of our students were honored. The commencement ceremonies this past weekend sent over 1,800 seniors on their way to their adult lives, well prepared for the challenges that face them in the future. These wonderful moments are the culmination of tens of thousands of hours of instruction, bus rides, school meals, and work to support our children at every turn.

Please know how much the work of the entire team, Classified, Certificated and Administrative, is noted and appreciated. The greater Puyallup community has great schools because of the instruction and support that our kids receive every day. Thank you!

I hope that every member of the team will enjoy some well-earned time with family and friends this summer. Thank you especially to our folks in Custodial, Maintenance, Grounds, Warehouse, and EdTec for their relentless efforts to prepare our schools and the technology for our students throughout the summer months. In addition, there are many construction projects, professional development efforts, and preparations being made for the coming year. The participation of our instructional and support staff in these professional development opportunities, to better serve our children, exemplifies the commitment shown in our schools.

The school board is very proud of the work taking place by the staff and the outcomes that are being shown in the performance and growth of our students. Very best wishes for the weeks ahead. We look forward to seeing everyone in August as we prepare for the coming of the 2018-19 school year.
