News & Updates:
2/22/21 – The 1st bid ad date was moved to March 8. Bid opening is scheduled for April 6. We continue working with the City of Puyallup on civil and building permit comments.
2/8/21 – We are working on our response to the City of Puyallup’s civil comments. Building comments were received on February 6th and were minor in nature. Cost estimate is in hand and protective alternates have been chosen. We continue to plan for staff moves during construction and have made good progress working with our FF&E consultant on coordinating and estimating that order. First bid advertisement date is March 1, 2021.
1/11/21 - Permit set has been submitted to the City of Puyallup. Cost estimate is due this week. The team is working on bid documents, planning staff moves during construction, and coordinating and estimating FF&E. Bid advertisement date is March 1, 2021.
12/14/20 – Still waiting for fire alarm response from the City of Puyallup. We will discuss project phasing at tomorrow's OA meeting. Building permit set to go in 12/21.
11/30/20 - Working on finalizing cost estimates, scope and phasing schedule with NAC, project architects. We will meet with the staff next week. Need to get direction from the City of Puyallup regarding fire alarm as soon as possible.
11/9/20 - The Operations team wrapped up security, landscape and low voltage systems. We also met with Special Services personnel regarding SPED classroom technology. Now preparing a proposal for the constructability review consultant.
10/26/20 - Met with PSD Operations team members to discuss security, landscape and low voltage systems. We are investigating whether the schedule could be front loaded to take advantage of students may not being in the school at this time. We may be able to break small scopes out to complete before the start of the general contractor work in April 2021.
9/28/20 - We met with the Ferrucci administrators and staff to review the design and received great feedback.
9/15/20 - Meeting with kitchen staff today.
9/4/20 - The design team reviewed the 25% set drawings and gave positive feedback. We need to work on the constructability/phasing issue and meet with the principal to discuss a variety of issues.
8/18/20 - Design work by NAC Architecture continues and they are working hard to firm up the Design Development estimate. Additional testing of the infiltration rate at the onsite pond is needed to hopefully allow for a higher design infiltration rate.
7/27/20 – This project is still in the design phase. We are working with NAC Architecture, the Ferrucci staff, various PSD departments, and consultants to finalize the design. A virtual neighborhood meeting was held on July 18th. The site development permit submittal was sent to the City of Puyallup on July 19.
