Communities
In Schools of Puyallup (CISP) will be among several local non-profit
organizations that will be accepting donations for people in need during
a “Puyallup Cares” family night on Wednesday, July 30 at Pioneer Park.
Live
music, games, raffles, and face painting also will be featured during
the free event from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pioneer Park Stage in downtown
Puyallup. The park is adjacent to the Puyallup Public Library, 324 S.
Meridian.
CISP
is also accepting school supplies from August 1-22 at numerous area
businesses. The organization partners with the Puyallup School District
year-round to help students succeed, including coordinating a reading
tutoring program, several after-school math and reading programs, and
the distribution of community resources.
The
organization will be joined at the Puyallup Cares event by other
non-profit groups such as Helping Hand House, St. Francis House,
Freezing Nights, Puyallup Food Bank, and the Salvation Army.
In
addition to school supplies, organizations are accepting donations of
diapers, new socks, baby supplies, school supplies, peanut butter, tuna
fish, and household cleaning supplies. Information about ways to serve
the community will also be available.
The
July 30 event at Pioneer Park is sponsored by The One Another
Foundation, Anthem Coffee and Tea, and Korum for Kids Foundation. It is
designed to promote caring, serving, and giving in the Puyallup
community.
