Primary Election day statewide is Tuesday, August 5.
Washington
state is all vote-by-mail. Ballots were mailed on Friday, July 18 and
may be mailed (postmarked by August 5) or dropped off in a “Vote-By-Mail
Ballot Drop Box” located throughout Pierce County.
Drop
boxes are open 24 hours, seven days a week, and close at 8 p.m. on
election night. No postage is necessary for ballots deposited in drop
boxes.
Drop boxes within the Puyallup School District are located at:
- Puyallup Library, 324 South Meridian, Puyallup
- South Hill Library, 15420 Meridian Ave. E., Puyallup
- Edgewood City Hall, 2224 104th Ave. E., Edgewood
Voting
centers are available throughout Pierce County to provide special
assistance to voters, especially those with disabilities. The voting
centers, including one located inside the Puyallup Library, will be open
from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day (August 5).
The
voting centers offer touch screen voting machines for those who need
them to cast their vote, and staff will be on hand to answer questions
about topics such as provisional ballots and voter registration. The
centers are not polling places.
People with mobile devices can download from the Internet a “Pierce County MyVote” application to get the following information:
- Voter registration information, including changes such as address or name.
- Locate the closest ballot drop box and get driving directions.
- View a sample of the current election ballot.
- Confirm
when the ballot is received at the Pierce County Elections Division and
verify there are no problems (the most common problem is a missing
signature). Site users may also view their voting history.
- View a list of federal, state, and county representatives and access contact information for elected officials.
