Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy

The Puyallup School Board has unanimously agreed to place an Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy on the February 13, 2018 Special Election ballot.
This would not be a new tax for voters, rather continuing support for existing educational programs and day-today operations in all district schools. Read more

If approved, the replacement levy will begin in 2019 and represent a reduction to taxpayers. The estimated annual tax rate for the Educational Programs and Operations Replacement Levy will be $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, which is $1.98 cents less than the rate of $3.48 previously approved by voters in 2014. On November 6 directors approved a resolution to re-certify the tax assessment for outstanding bonds by an amount $10 million less than what is needed in 2018. This will reduce the amount collected of tax payers, thus reducing what would otherwise be a one year spike in tax rates. Read more |

Operations levy dollars provide schools with a clean, safe learning environments.
The Operations Department oversees the maintenance and operating efficiencies for 32 school buildings and grounds and 13 support facilities throughout the district. The district has a total of 170 acres of athletic fields and elementary playfields to maintain. Read more
