Retirees honored at Puyallup School Board meeting

Cake, roses, music, congratulations, hugs, and tears were the highlight of the June 19 school board meeting as district retirees were honored for their many years of service to children in Puyallup.

Family, friends, and staff were in the audience as each retiree was called to the front of the room while their contributions to the district were highlighted.

A reception for the retirees followed.

Fifty-three staff members are retiring from the Puyallup School District this year. With a combined more than 1,250 years of service to the district the retirees include teachers, librarians, specialists, paraeducators, business services staff, office personnel, bus drivers, mechanics, operations staff and custodians, maintenance, and special services employees.

We wish all of our retirees the very best, and we thank them for their service to our students.
