Honoring Cultures Diversity Celebration in Its 12th Year: April 16 - 19, 2

The Honoring Cultures Diversity Celebration sponsored by the Puyallup School District’s Office of Equity and Achievement will again be held at the Puyallup Spring Fair, in the South Foyer and Pioneer Rooms of the “Showplex” Exhibition Hall, from April 16-19, 2015.  Artwork, essays, poems, and other student work based on culturally relevant curriculum and projects will be displayed throughout all days of the Spring Fair.  Over five hundred pieces of student work are on display with many students coming to present and talk about their work.  This combined display is a showcase resulting from the district’s continuing efforts to honor the cultures of all our students and staff through curriculum, read-alouds, art projects, student presentations and performances.

The Spring Fair provides the perfect setting for families to come and share in this event. Although the displays will be open to the public on all the days of The Fair, the big day for Puyallup families who want to see the exhibition will be Saturday April 18th between 10 A.M and 6 P.M. Students will discuss their work and reflect on their learning regarding diversity and honoring cultures with visitors to the fair.  The added feature started in 2009, are performances from district music, and dance groups, as well as individual performances on the Coca Cola stage outside the Honoring Cultures Diversity Celebration display. Over 500 students will be performing.
