UW-Tacoma Symposium on Contemporary Native American Issues in Higher Education

Ninth and Tenth graders are invited to attend a field trip to the University of Washington - Tacoma's Symposium on Contemporary Native American Issues in Higher Education on Thursday, November 7, 2013.  Learn about what it takes to be a successful college student.  Tour the campus and meet UW Tacoma students, staff, and faculty.  This symposium explores tribal cultural ways, Native knowledge, and current challenges in the education of Native People.  The keynote speakers include Deborah Parker, Vice Chairworman of the Tulalip Tribes and Louie Gong, Coast Salish Artist, designer of Mockups, educator and activist.

 

So, get those field trip forms completed, signed, and returned to your school as soon as possible, but no later than Thursday, October 31st.  There are a limited amount of spots available, with priority given to tenth graders.
