Local
businesses and community groups will set up donation boxes throughout
the community during the month of August to collect back-to-school
supplies for students in need.
Several
organizations are partnering with Communities In Schools (CIS) of
Puyallup and the Puyallup School District to organize the supply drives.
School supply donation drop-off sites include the following locations. The list will be updated as other sites are announced.
August 5-23
- Red Canoe Credit Union lobby, 16510 Meridian St. E., Puyallup
- South Hill Mall center court (canoe will be set up to collect supplies), 3500 S. Meridian, Puyallup
- Puyallup City Hall, 330 3rd St. S.W., Puyallup
- Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, 417 E. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup
- Rainier Dental (Tuesday through Saturday), 18710 Meridian St. East, #216, Puyallup
- Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 9th Ave. S.W., Puyallup
August 1-31
Items
especially in need this year include backpacks for junior high and high
school students, binders (1½ to 3 inches), graph paper, highlighters,
colored pencils, and notebook section dividers.
