Puyallup School Board meeting

  November 17, 2014

Advance and Gateway program partnerships highlighted

Lanny Gleason, community workplace coordinator and an Advance Program teacher, shared about partnerships between the school district and local businesses created through the Advance and Gateway programs.

The Advance Program enrolls 19- to 21-year-old students with special needs and provides post-high school instruction geared toward job training and employment.

The school district's Gateway Program helps 19- to 21-year-old students establish access to adult services, volunteer services, community accesses, and life skills.

Gleason discussed some of the more than 150 work training sites in the community. He also introduced Special Services department colleagues Gary Jeffers and Susan McQuilkin.
